Ken Freick, Community Director, focuses on the day-to-day wellness of our residents. By working closely with caregivers, residents, and residents’ families, Ken has the opportunity to ensure happy, fulfilling days for our residents. Ken relocated to Tucson from San Diego, where he had been working for over ten years in a community very similar to Via Elegante. He brings valuable experience in facility maintenance and operations, resident services, and human resources. His drive to promote excellence in every aspect of the community coupled with his creative, insightful problem solving abilities make him a tremendous asset to the Via Elegante team.
Mike McHugh, EMT, Wellness Director, provides vital support for daily community operations and coordinates an enriching activities program for the residents. Mike relocated to the Tucson area in 2008 from Flagstaff, where he attended Northern Arizona University for a dual degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Joining our team in early 2014, Mike brings a diverse set of skills to the table, including nearly 15 years of experience as a caregiver and as an EMT. He enjoys programming, reading, archery, and paleo-hoplology.
Andrew Briefer, Managing Partner, is certified as an Assisted Living Manager by the state of Arizona. He currently serves on the board of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) and the board of the Caregiver Training Institute. As a native of Tucson, graduate of the University of Arizona, real estate appraiser and developer, Andy’s operational involvement with Via Elegante is the expression of his passion for enhancing the lives of the seniors and health care workers which are the heart and soul of our communities.
Amy Selegue, BA, BSN, RN, works directly with physicians, residents, families, and caregivers to achieve the best health possible for our residents. Amy enjoys spending one-on-one time with each of our residents to get to know them and their individual health needs. She is passionate about the concept of “aging in place” and strives to ensure good quality of life for all of our residents. Amy is a second career nurse with an extensive background in communication and administration prior to following her dream of nursing. Amy has worked as a nurse in a variety of settings, and has found her passion working with seniors. She has lived in Tucson with her husband and son since 2002 and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her dog, watching the desert critters, and performing on stage doing improv comedy.
