With the ever-increasing risk of the spread of COVID-19 in Pima County, we feel now is the time to take action to ensure we are doing our part to minimize the spread of the virus both within our communities and Arizona at large. According to the CDC, history shows that taking strong steps now to slow the spread of coronavirus will have a lasting impact on needed healthcare services during this period, see CDC info here.
At this time only healthcare providers that are determined to be essential by the resident’s primary care physician and resident representatives will be allowed into the community. Via Elegante will allow visitors for our residents receiving Hospice Care by appointment only and within restricted hours. Visitations will be allowed only for immediate family members and we ask that there are no children under the age of 18 brought into the community. We will continue to check the temperature of all visitors and staff entering our communities.
To schedule a visitation appointment please call between 9:00am and 3:00pm Monday – Friday. For Tucson appointments please call 520-403-1546, for Sierra Vista please call 520-306-6897. Visitation hours will be daily from 1pm to 6pm. We understand what an inconvenience this will be for our entire community and we want to apologize. But, as always, the health and wellbeing of our residents is our main priority. To help minimize the impact to both our residents and our families, Via Elegante will be setting up stations for family members to be able to communicate with their loved ones via Skype or Facetime. We will be sending out communications regarding how we will implement that program in the following days. We will also be looking at other ways to give families more immediate information about their loved ones who are in our care.
We ask for your cooperation, patience, and understanding in implementing these steps to help keep our residents, families, and staff safe. As always, feel free to call me at (520) 429-7955 or email me with any questions or concerns.
REGIONAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Just big enough to have a highly professional team comprised of our Caregivers, Health Director (Registered Nurse), Wellness Director, and Executive/Community Director, but small enough for our team to focus quality time on each resident in a comfortable home-like environment.
Andy Briefer: State of Arizona Certified Assisted Living Manager, Former Board Member of the Arizona Assisted Living Federation of America and the Caregiver Training Institute.
Ken Freick: Executive Director, focuses on the day-to-day wellness of our residents by working closely with caregivers, residents, and residents’ families.
